Lawn Edger Blades

Lawn Edger blades which I've purchased often have an α of 90°. I find that sharpening them makes them to a much more acute ange makes themn work much more effectively (and quickly).

The areas to be sharpened are highlighted in red in the picture to the left..


Care must be taken to ensure the blade remains balanced. For this reason (and many others), it is highly recommended to perform the sharpening of the blade after removing it from the edger.

45° This angle is pretty acute, but the edger is often encountering gravel and other detrius which would quickly dull the blade.
